There is a definite move to application stores. Apple seems to drive that one, with the iphone appstore.
What I have noticed in the past few weeks, is not only the increase in windows 7 apps, and blog posts, but a group of developers sharing their statistics and thoughts.

Security and industry experts have publicised a security flaw in the iPhone.
It was brought to light by the JailbreakMe app which allows apps to be added to the iPhone without Apples approval. Although it is clear that JailbreakMe isn't bad, but they have made this flaw very public.
The advice on the web, is don't follow links from pdf's or docs that you don't trust the source of.

In the smartphone OS market, Android and Apple were the winners in the first quarter of 2010 (see Table 2). Android moved to the No. 4 position displacing Microsoft Windows Mobile for the first time. Both Android and Apple were the only two OSs vendors among the top five to increase market share year-on-year. Symbian remained in the No. 1 position but continued to lose as Nokia remains weak in the high-end portfolio.
